Conditioning class
Feb. 1st, 2005 07:40 amIn an attempt to break out of my ankle injury induced physical slump, I signed up for the conditioning class at the circus school where
lemur_catta trains. It's a good option for me as the class is strenuous but low impact. (And the eye candy beats the blazes out of a Nomads' training session). It's never easy getting back in shape after a lay off and it only gets harder as one gets older. I have basically been vegging for three months and operating below my usual activity level since May. No surprise that I need to lose thirty pounds.
Last night was the first class and it was tough. There are some very fit people in that class. I think I made it through roughly half the class. I managed about 45 minutes with a couple of breaks before deciding I had reached the point where tired muscles just wouldn't even go in the right directions.
This morning I feel tired but not damaged. It can only get easier.
