The beer tasting event was fun. The attendance was somewhat sparse due to illness and, perhaps, the fact that a mini blizzard blew in around the time we were scheduled to get going. That said, quality trumps quantity any day!

Highlights for me were the St. Peter's Winter Ale (1) contributed by jez_e_bel and the Scotch/Irish Brewing Co. Sgt. Major IPA (2) that I bought. ginny_t's raspberry lambic went well with her Guiness brownies and much fun was had with purplesofa's kiddy's lunch box flavoured sake.

(1) Dark, sweetish, complex Christmas cake notes. A good example of an English Christmas Ale.

(2) Medium bodied, bone dry with a real belt of hops. Classic IPA.

The bengals behaved themselves apart from Padmini's attempt to demolish the dictionary.
