chickenfeet: (sousou)
[personal profile] chickenfeet
I went out to do some shopping at lunchtime. I saw what must surely be the last, lonely rose of summer.

This got me thinking about transitions and I decided to take a slightly longer route to and from the market. For this is a neighbourhood in transition. In some ways it always has been. It's the oldest part of Toronto. Much of it has been redeveloped. Much of it is run down (the financial and political centre has migrated north westwards over the last 200 years). Now it is becoming fashionable again. It's truly a transition zone. All the following pictures were taken in a rectangle bounded by Sherbourne/Esplanade and Queen/Jarvis. The complete set of pictures is in this Flickr! set

Fixed or Variable? The crane supplies the answer!

Next, my least favourite intersection; Sherbourne and Queen tells a story. This wreck of a building is being redeveloped.

But kitty corner will still be a tattoo parlour, the Good Shepherd mission and the Sally Anne!
