A very silly game from [livejournal.com profile] felinitykat

ATTENTION PLEASE: I would like your assistance in keeping me amused!

I want to test how well I know you all. With this in mind I have turned off IP address logging, and am temporarily allowing anonymous comments. I would like you to leave a comment , saying exactly what you might say anyway, but doing so anonymously so that I can see if I can recognise you from your writing style. A minimum word limit of 20 words, perhaps?

I know it makes the whole commenting lark a lot more artificial (especially as all you have to comment on is me talking about you commenting), but humour me? I'm fascinated to see if I can spot people purely from the style in which they write. If this post doesn't inspire you then feel free to comment here in response to another post (but let me know which one!).

(Only disclaimer: if you never usually comment on my journal, or even worse never comment here or update your own journal, then you're not really qualified to join in the game as I don't stand a chance. Unless you're someone I know really, really well in Real Life.)

So comment, pretty please! Say anything you like, really, provided you don't deliberately change your style just to fox me.

And if I guess wrong (and I bet I do) then don't be offended...

I don't know if I count as someone you know well enough to be able to guess me, but I'm going to have a go anyway. I think you comment on my journal more than I comment on yours. I don't know if my style is consistent between posts and comments.

If I want to stay in my natural voice, that probably means babbling and taking several sentences to make a simple statement, so here you go. The twenty word minimum limit is certainly no problem for me! Is this enough for you to go on, or would you like me to talk about something specific?

No, I am not that person, and I don't even know them. (There's actually no such user on LJ, but I guess you mean [livejournal.com profile] felinitykat?) I'm trying to think what I could write here to give you more of a clue, but not make it too ridiculously obvious.

Let's see: I tend to overuse adverbs that don't add much to the meaning of what I'm saying; three of my most used words in LJ are anyway, actually and lovely. I'm listening to Mozart's Requiem, interrupted by fireworks going off, right now. I don't know if that will narrow it down any!

No, I'm decidedly not her, though I am most flattered to be mistaken for her. And now my mind has gone absolutely blank and I can not think of a thing to tell you to give you more material to work on.

You're picking people from my neck of the woods, in LJ terms, which probably means you're getting close as you have a very diverse friends list and you're zoning in on the parts of it you share with me. I'm not sure whether this will be a huge clue or no help at all, but I went to university with [livejournal.com profile] karen2205.

Do keep guessing, I'm enjoying this game.

The very same! Four guesses is pretty good going, I reckon; I'm sure it's better than I would have done. How did you work it out? Or was my clue a dead giveaway?
