A very silly game from [livejournal.com profile] felinitykat

ATTENTION PLEASE: I would like your assistance in keeping me amused!

I want to test how well I know you all. With this in mind I have turned off IP address logging, and am temporarily allowing anonymous comments. I would like you to leave a comment , saying exactly what you might say anyway, but doing so anonymously so that I can see if I can recognise you from your writing style. A minimum word limit of 20 words, perhaps?

I know it makes the whole commenting lark a lot more artificial (especially as all you have to comment on is me talking about you commenting), but humour me? I'm fascinated to see if I can spot people purely from the style in which they write. If this post doesn't inspire you then feel free to comment here in response to another post (but let me know which one!).

(Only disclaimer: if you never usually comment on my journal, or even worse never comment here or update your own journal, then you're not really qualified to join in the game as I don't stand a chance. Unless you're someone I know really, really well in Real Life.)

So comment, pretty please! Say anything you like, really, provided you don't deliberately change your style just to fox me.

And if I guess wrong (and I bet I do) then don't be offended...

Note to self. Not distinctive after all. Do not quit day job.

Who do I know who would get into a fight about Chomsky and feel bad about It?

No. Sorry.

Let me think. What else can I talk about that will provide style clues and not real clues?

Today my desk needs to be cleaned off. I am waiting for the moment when Olive Tree products are available outside of America so that I can digitize all my CDs. I also have lying on my desk: a half-finished novel which is taunting me; a number of family diaries that I am in the process of transcribing; various and assorted photographs from different periods in my life and a new Reginald Hill novel which is threatening to distract me from other things I need to do.

This is cruel as [livejournal.com profile] rahael is the only person on the flist who lists "Reginald Hill" as an interest. Half finished taunting novels are not a very distinguishing feature so we are back to Chomsky, family diaries and a cetain use of capitalisation. [livejournal.com profile] oursin?

No, but as a regular reader of her journal I consider myself flattered. I am not sure that she would be, however.

Here is another hint, although this goes beyond writing style. During this last week I met up with another livejournal user who you have never met, but who is a regular reader of your journal. Since I have met you, this person was quite curious what you are like In Real Life. I said that you are quite charming, but did not wear a bow tie. This was seen seen as obscurely disappointing.

Had it not been for the bow tie remark I should have said [livejournal.com profile] owlfish but I'm sure I was wearing a bow tie the night we saw Dido. So it's someone I've met who knows someone I haven't met who reads [livejournal.com profile] oursin so I'm guessing it's [livejournal.com profile] frumiousb and, for a bonus, that the other person involved is [livejournal.com profile] nikkyb.
