This morning I noticed that Lady Jane had a distinct swelling around the incision site from her op. We took her into clinic and they have decided to do an exploratory op and decide whether to drain the wound, put her on antibiotics or whatever. In any event she's back in the shelter until tomorrow morning.

Oh dear! I hope it's easily remedied, and I hope you're able to do something to take your mind off it so you won't worry too much.

Fingers crossed, but if it helps, one of ours had something very similar happen, and the evil clown collar, hot compresses, and antibiotics took care of it

Oh god I hope it's not the evil clown collar. Jane's mastery of cat obscenities is already sufficiently well developed.

Lily (the one in the pic) just couldn't do it -- she reversed her way through the house, mewing piteously, till we gave up, because it was clearly stressing her out. The Bastard, OTOH, just dragged it around with him, clunking everywhere and not much minding

There is a canine equivalent which in the case of our younger dog was the evil clown bucket - no collar strong enough so the vet cut the bottom out of a plastic bucket and attached that to him. I regret to say that the vile little bastard was perfectly capable of getting over six foot fences with it on.

Oh, poor Lady Jane, and poor you having to worry again! I do hope they sort her out quickly. Let us know when it's convenient.
