Luckily I have read it, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to fill out the poll.

Do I get any points for having actually visited Wigan Pier? :)

I haven't read the book though.

I think I win at Wigan points being as how I have worked in Wigan, read the book, watched Wigan Rugby League from the Heinz corporate box and visited the pier with a boss whose grandfather ran a pub in Wigan, which we found (and very squalid it was).

You definitely win on Wigan points! But we did once ascend the Wigan Flight of locks (http://www.leedsliverpoolcanal.co.uk/photos.php?gallery=flight) whilst on a canal holiday some years ago.

I've ridden my bike along long stretches of the L&L but mostly NE of Wigan itself.

You definitely win.

Perhaps his best book, this, together with "Homage to Catalonia."

I've always had a soft spot for HtC, especially as I used to know people who had been POUMistas
